Extra Virus Protection Without Constant Updates

Email viruses do not have to be a fact of life.

And in order to keep them out, you don't have to update virus subscriptions constantly either!

Let me explain...

As you well know, the most common form of virus infection occurs because of email attachments that contain malicious code harmful to your computer.

This code can be activated by many different types of files such as a document file or a screen saver file. Once activated, the virus can instantly spread throughout your computer either immediately or at a predetermined time in the future.

Most people aren't even aware of being infected until it's too late. Because of this, your friends could unknowingly send you the same virus.

But even worse... If it is a new virus, it can slip through your email program completely undetected because:

  • You haven't updated your virus subscription in awhile
  • Your anti-virus software may not have the cure for it yet even if you're up-to-date

The truth is, relying on anti-virus software alone can actually get you infected easier than if you didn't have it at all! Because your anti-virus program is running, you may open your email "assuming" you're protected when you're really not.

Mailbox Filter's intelligent process will detect any attachment that could potentially harm your system and simply add a .TXT extension to the end of the attachment file. This is called "Neutralization" because the file has been rendered neutral and can no longer pose a threat to your system in this state.

For example, if your friend sends you an attachment with a file name like "contract.doc", then Mailbox Filter, knowing that a ".doc" file can contain a virus, will simply add a .TXT extension, without harming the original file name. The filename will now look like this: "contract.doc.txt". This turns the file into a completely harmless text document.

Of course, Mailbox Filter gives you the option to accept any attachment without the .TXT extension added. And if you accepted a document that you did not want to have Neutralized, then you can simply remove the .TXT extension from the file name to fully restore it.

Mailbox Filter never changes the original document's name. This way you can make your own decision whether to keep it or throw it away.

Mailbox Filter also gives you the option to assign certain people as a "Trusted Source". This ensures that no attachments coming from this source ever need to be Neutralized. However, you must be 100% certain that this person really is someone who would absolutely never send you a virus infected file!

Mailbox Filter comes with a customizable list of safe file extensions. You can add or subtract from the list at any time. Any file extension listed here will not be Neutralized.

Mailbox Filter’s intelligent approach to processing your attachments is the first of it's kind and gives you comfort and control over your email. This positive approach TOTALLY eliminates the need for any updating at all.

More importantly, if a new virus does arrive on the scene, no need to to worry ... You can continue to safely collect email while your anti-virus company figures out a cure. In the meantime, with Neutralization on, Mailbox Filter will protect you around the clock.
