Courtesy Reply to Rejected Senders

An automated Courtesy Reply is an important feature when used intelligently. For instance:

  1. Those who receive them may legitimately need to reach you. The Courtesy Reply alerts them to the fact that their message did not reach you and should contact you in another manner.
  2. When you've been spammed, you may wish to complain to the source of the email and demand that your email address be removed from their mailing list.

If you were to do this manually, it would take way too much time!

In an attempt to offer a solution to this, many of the "average" filtering programs use what is known as a "bounce-back" message. But because they aren't intelligent email filters, this "solution" creates a NEW problem...

  1. A great majority of unsolicited email comes from automated systems. These systems will ONLY remove your address automatically if you put [REMOVE] in the subject line.

  2. if several spammers are using bad email addresses (yes, they do this!), you will receive tons of bounce-back messages from your bounce-backs!

Talk about being bitten by your own guard dog!

The solution? Mailbox Filter, of course!

Mailbox Filter’s Courtesy Reply is sent to rejected email senders with [REMOVE] automatically entered into the subject line for you.

But we take it one step further!

When a courtesy reply is sent to an invalid email address, instead of it bouncing back to you, we take care of it! The reject message(s)goes to our bounce-back mailbox. That's right, Mailbox filter automatically removes these bounces from your mail system for you!
